Failed connector in the steering column - the wire that leads to the switch.
My upgraded headlights were not the problem. This came to replace the cracked one:
Also, this:
Sadly, 'chaser will not be ready for today's trip. Steve, my British car restoring employee, listened to me complain and said dryly, "You know, this is that big of an electrical problem." I guess he would know.

As long as you know where the problem is, you can fix it. What drives me mad is not being able to diagnose. So, yay.
There will be more sun to chase.

See? Told you it was going to be a shitshow of disassembly and finding the mechanical breakage. Now you get to hope it was just the broken connector and not the connector having broken because of something else.
But if you want to get some comfort? Tell Steve that you know a guy who actually had to fix Chrysler electrical for late-90's through mid-00's stuff. (Just make sure he sends the sympathy whiskey to me.)

How Steve works on electrical issues. Check the position of the stars, kill a chicken and walk three times clockwise around your car chanting: Oh mighty Prince of Darkness protect your unworthy servant..

I have realized I can feel warmth from the headlight wire under the mat when I have the headlights on in the Ferd. This makes me nervose, though its likely just a Ferd stroke of genius and not using heavy enough wire on the low beam circuit.
